How to Write a Women's Shoe RFQ That Gets an Accurate Supplier Quote
Learn what to include in a women's footwear RFQ so suppliers can quote the correct materials, MOQ, packaging, sampling and delivery requirements.
A request for quotation, or RFQ, should give a supplier enough information to calculate the product correctly. A short message asking only for “best price” often produces an estimate based on assumptions rather than a dependable quotation.
What information should a women’s footwear RFQ include?
1. Product category
State whether you need pumps, high-heel sandals, flats, loafers or another women’s footwear category. Include clear reference images from multiple angles. Explain which parts of the reference must remain unchanged and which details can be adjusted.
2. Target market and customer
Sizing, fit expectations, labeling and product positioning differ by market. Tell the supplier where the shoes will be sold and whether they are intended for value, mid-market or premium retail.
3. Order quantity by colour
Do not provide only the total quantity. Show the expected number of pairs for every style and colour. This helps the supplier assess material purchasing, production planning and component minimums.
4. Size range and size breakdown
A total quantity without a size run is incomplete. Provide the required sizing system and estimated quantity per size. If the final breakdown is not confirmed, clearly mark it as preliminary.
5. Materials and construction
Specify the preferred upper, lining, sock, outsole and heel materials. If alternatives are acceptable, ask the supplier to quote them separately. Words such as “good quality” are subjective. Material names, thickness, finish, colour references and performance requirements are more useful.
6. Branding and packaging

7. Sampling requirements

8. Inspection and delivery requirements
